4 Summer Fun Things to Check Your Coverage For

Harrison County is the perfect location for summer fun. With lakes and open areas nearby, it’ll be time to put the boat on the lake or get the ATVs out of storage. Now is a great time to buy recreational insurance with Tom Wallace Insurance Agency to make sure your summer fun toys are properly protected. Here are some things to consider and discuss with Tom for your family to be insured for the increased risks that come with those fun outdoor activities.

If you own a boat, ask Tom about a boat owner’s policy that covers physical damage to the boat and any liability that might result from its use. Personal watercrafts, such as jet skis, will also require a separate insurance policy. Owning and operating a boat or jet ski puts you at an increased risk for liability losses. Consider adding a personal umbrella policy to provide liability coverage above what your boat policy offers. Talk to Tom about the options your policy will cover.

All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are also not covered by standard automobile insurance policies. Ask any of our agents to see if a separate ATV policy is needed to make sure you are properly insured.

Be sure to ask if you homeowner’s policy specifies any safety guidelines you are required to follow, such as installing a certain height fence or locked gate. Check with Tom to find the best home insurance policy in Harrison County for you that includes your pool. You may also want to purchase an umbrella policy to have extra liability coverage other than what your homeowner’s policy provides.

For some of us, renting our summer fun is the way to go. But rentals also carry their own set of insurance risks and exposures. The majority of rental companies just want proof of insurance and that’s not problem! Contact us anytime and anyone at Tom Wallace Insurance Agency will be glad to help you with your summer fun.
